A Cadesh, the leaders of the new people risen from Exodus decided to merge the cult of Aten, remained the prerogative of the Levites – of Egyptian origin – after the death of Moses, with the worship of the pagan god Javhè and other minor gods of the tribes Semitic that were merged to form the Jewish people. It was agreed not so much to maintain the rigid universal monotheism Atonista, how to set up a single national god for all the Jewish people.

In this period it was probably the writing of the second part of Exodus which rehabilitates the figure of Moses and the laws which he has given to the Jewish people. In confirmation of this hypothesis is the presence in the steps which lists the commandments of the name “Jealous God” to describe the God Mosaic, which indicates that the Jews should be no other gods, but that does not exist ever.

The new God Adonai (Aton) -Jhavè-Elohim in the intentions of the political leaders of the Jewish tribes more than one God must, therefore, become nothing more than a national god, that cementasse tribe and origin populations so different and that actually became . The Levites of Egyptian origin accepted the deal, but for a long time continued to play the god of the new religion to the same fees which in the past interpreted the texts of atonista religion and it is likely that for decades continued to circulate among them many of the sacred keys of the Aten religion which had certainly brought with him from Egypt, and that in all probability have formed the basic instrument on which were based the interpretation in the sense of the new monotheistic religion and the rejection of any magical ritual, which gradually they have become a patrimony of the culture of the Jewish people.

Adonai e Mosè

This assumption is an accurate reflected in Psalm 103 (104) of the Bible, dating from the eleventh century. C., containing the Hymn to God the Creator, which is nothing more than a reformulation of the Hymn to Aten written by the Pharaoh Akhenaten. Among these texts are to be counted undoubtedly fragments of the books that make up the Pentateuch, written almost certainly Tuthmoses (Moses) or people close to him. The cult javhista was accepted in the new religion especially the anthropomorphic conception of a God who rewards and punishes, and the idea of the existence of an afterlife.
